‘ I believe every gardener is an artist, and every garden can be a work of art. ‘
Do any of these sound familiar?
I love gardens and gardening but I don't know how to achieve the results I want.
I value beauty, and I want my garden to reflect this. I am happy with my indoor space, but don't know how to get the same results outside?
I want a peaceful, green sanctuary but I’m overwhelmed with plant choice, I don’t know what should go where.
I want a beautiful garden year round, billowing with colour, scent and interest - but I’ve no idea where to start.
I know I need to introduce some structure to bring my outdoor space together, but I don't know what features should go where.
There is often a disconnect between what a gardener envisions for their space, and what it currently looks like. Billowing borders, seasonal colour, and year round interest can be difficult to achieve and sometimes getting a professional pair of eyes can be useful. Understanding design principles and how they apply to everyday gardening on a micro and macro level can make a big difference and I love to teach these skills to other creative gardeners. Embracing the fundamentals of right plant, right place. Zoning in on aspect, soil and site conditions, good horticultural practice, design principles, use of space, appropriate maintenance systems, propagation, pruning and any other aspect of gardening can all help you realise your vision. I will meet you where you are and support you as you evolve your own gardening skills and practice.
With the above in mind I’ve created these online services to focus on Ornamental gardening: the tools, and how-to’s of creating and maintaining an ART-LED garden.
These are for gardeners who want to improve their creative gardening skills.… amateur gardeners, plant enthusiasts, hobbyists and garden lovers who want to get more out of their outdoor space.
Suitable for gardeners in the UK/Ireland and parts of Europe, America and Canada which correspond with the USDA zones 7-9.
Gardening is so practical - will online really work?:
Good question: I felt like that for years, and didn’t think it was worth offering online options. However, since the pandemic peoples attitudes to learning practical skills online has shifted. Remote sessions works for those who:
Are comfortable using a video phone/tablet
Have good internet connection
Are not a COMPLETE BEGINNER! : If you are not familiar with routine gardening tasks such as cutting back, watering, or prepping beds, or common garden plants then finding a hands-on, introductory course would be better. I have found that for someone who is not yet familiar with the nuts and bolts of day to day gardening then it can be difficult to relay practical information effectively.
